It may seem a bit early to talk about summer activities, but school will be out in a few short weeks, and that means our summer activities for kids and adults will be kicking into high gear. We already have opened registration for some of our summer programs, so don’t miss your chance to get in on the fun.

Our Mission: To provide and promote community leisure as well as recreational and cultural activities for all citizens. This is accomplished through professional staff who provides recreational programs and activities and who maintain facility standards making them to enhance personal well being and to improve the quality of life that makes Yakima a great place to live, work and play.

The Parks and Recreation Commission is governed under Ordinance No.1573 to:
- advise on policy, plans and programs
- maintain and operate City parks
- advise and maintain recreational programs
The Park Commission meets at 5:30pm the second Wednesday of each month at City Hall. The public is welcome to attend or can watch on Cable TV, Channel 22.
