Hi, I’m Matthew Murray, Yakima’s Chief of Police. I’ve been a police officer for nearly 30 years, and I’m proud to be leading our great police force here in Yakima. We believe that to effectively police in a community, there has to be trust—and trust is built in relationships. That’s why, since starting as Chief of Police, I’ve made it a priority to get out into the community and get to know people. If you see me or other officers in your neighborhood, we invite you to come say hello or just give us a wave. It’s our goal to build relationships and ultimately reduce crime. My heart go out to the victim and their loved ones affected by this 100% preventable crime! Drinking and driving is not only illegal but also incredibly dangerous, as evidenced by this crash (not an accident). We must come together as a community to prevent such senseless tragedies from occurring. Please, never get behind the wheel if you've been drinking. It's a decision that saves lives. #DontDrinkAndDrive #DriveSafe #CommunitySafety 🚫🍻🚗
Well they are probably exaggerating on the alcohol. The man probably had one drink and he’ll say it’s under the influence. Yeah she had no reflection anybody could’ve done it. It’s a bad accident who anybody could’ve hit her at least the gentleman stayed there and didn’t run kudos for him
He made a mistake. I have known peter for 25 years, he is one on the nicest kindest people i know. Unfortunately, he made a poor decision that night and hurt someone. He will ultimately pay the price. Love you Peter Verbrugge, in my heart and prayers.

Her name is Ana Danker. She's a drug addict who is involved in a lot of crimal activities and her not having proper lighting was her trying to be incognito. I'm not saying she had it coming but when you look for shit, you find it.
