G.R.E.A.T. stands for Gang Resistance Education
and Training. Great is a partnership program between
the YPD and the Yakima School District. It teaches
Life Skills and the ability to avoid gang involvement.

YPAL is an organization staffed by YPD personnel that
brings cops and kids together while teaching positive
life skills. It gives kids healthy activities to
fill their leisure time and encourages academic performance.
The Crime Free Rental Housing
program is a partnership between the Yakima Police
Department, local landlords, and tenants working
together to foster a safer and healthier community
