The Yakima Police Athletic League is an independent, non-profit corporation committed to helping kids in the community. YPAL is a mixture of police officers, civilian staff, and a board of directors. Founded in 2003, YPAL also serves as a juvenile prevention program—targeted initially to organize long-term crime prevention.

We seek to foster a bond of mutual trust, respect, and understanding among police officers and young people by enabling them to interact in a positive setting. YPAL provides alternative recreational, educational, and athletic activities under the supervision of police officers and volunteers. YPAL is funded by donations, grants, and fundraising events throughout the year.
