Pump tracks typically feature a circuit of rollers and banked turns. They are designed to be ridden completely by “pumping,” generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing.

“We want to hear the community’s input about a location and design for the proposed pump track,” said Yakima Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson.

The feedback session will be moved to the Harman Center if it rains. A bicycle bunny hop competition will be held immediately after the June 22nd feedback session, with the winner receiving a $100 prize.

The feedback session will be hosted by Yakima Parks and Recreation in partnership with Single Track Alliance of Yakima (STAY), American Ramp Company, Progressive Bike Ramps and Velosolutions.

“We are excited to see so many bikers and other riders getting out there, and we want to reward their engagement with an awesome pump track,” said Will Hollingbery of STAY.

If approved by the Yakima City Council, the Randall Park South Pump Track would be just the latest in a series of community partnerships with Yakima Parks and Recreation. Recent examples include improvements to Martin Luther King Jr. Park, planned upgrades at Miller Park, pickle ball courts at Franklin Park and the Randall Park dog park.

Visit https://yakimaparks.com for more about Yakima Parks and Recreation programs.

Pump Track Feedback Session – News ReleaseDownload

The proposed Randall Park South Pump Track will be the focus of a community feedback session next Tuesday, June 22nd, at 6:30 pm on the south side of Randall Park, 48th and Washington Avenue.
