Yakima police are asking for the community\u2019s help locating a suspect in a murder that took place in October of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On November 18th<\/sup>, 2021, a 2nd<\/sup> degree murder arrest warrant was issued for 17-year-old Solomon DeAlba for his alleged participation in the murder of Joey Cantu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On October 30, 2021 at about 5:30 am, 9-1-1 calltakers received a report from a male who said subjects in a car shot at him and his friend in the area of the 400 block of West Chestnut Avenue. The caller said his friend had been shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Patrol officers located 34-year-old Cantu in the west alley of South 4th<\/sup> Avenue and West Chestnut Avenue. Cantu was unconscious and bleeding severely from several gunshot wounds. Officers performed CPR on Cantu until paramedics arrived. He died at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n DeAlba is approximately 5\u201906\u201d tall and weighs around 140 lbs. There is information he may be hiding in the Yakima or Tacoma area.
