{"id":11509,"date":"2022-01-13T11:29:24","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T19:29:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=11509"},"modified":"2022-01-13T11:31:08","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T19:31:08","slug":"police-asking-for-help-in-locating-2nd-degree-murder-suspect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/police-asking-for-help-in-locating-2nd-degree-murder-suspect\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Asking for Help in Locating 2nd Degree Murder Suspect"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yakima police are asking for the community\u2019s help locating a suspect in a murder that took place in October of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On November 18<sup>th<\/sup>, 2021, a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> degree murder arrest warrant was issued for 17-year-old Solomon DeAlba for his alleged participation in the murder of Joey Cantu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 30, 2021 at about 5:30 am, 9-1-1 calltakers received a report from a male who said subjects in a car shot at him and his friend in the area of the 400 block of West Chestnut Avenue.&nbsp; The caller said his friend had been shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patrol officers located 34-year-old Cantu in the west alley of South 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and West Chestnut Avenue. Cantu was unconscious and bleeding severely from several gunshot wounds. Officers performed CPR on Cantu until paramedics arrived. He died at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeAlba is approximately 5\u201906\u201d tall and weighs around 140 lbs. There is information he may be hiding in the Yakima or Tacoma area.
