{"id":12071,"date":"2022-07-05T12:39:46","date_gmt":"2022-07-05T19:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=12071"},"modified":"2022-07-05T12:39:48","modified_gmt":"2022-07-05T19:39:48","slug":"free-concerts-movies-return-to-yakima-parks-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/free-concerts-movies-return-to-yakima-parks-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Concerts, Movies Return to Yakima Parks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>City of Yakima parks will be alive with the sound of music and movies during three different series this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The idea is to encourage families to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy the free concerts and films outdoors,&#8221; said Parks &amp; Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. &#8220;The community is invited to relax and listen to great music or watch family films in a beautiful park.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Summer Sunset Concert Series at Franklin Park, 2101 Tieton Drive, is 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the following Fridays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>July 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; DieBruder (classic rock)<\/li><li>July 15<sup>th&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/sup>Under the Covers (80s\/90s rock)<\/li><li>July 22<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Red Light Challenge (alternative\/indie pop)<\/li><li>July 29<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Camille Bloom (folk rock)<\/li><li>Aug. 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; American Honey Band (country\/rock)<\/li><li>Aug. 12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Spiced Rye (Americana)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Viva La Musica begins Sunday, July 10th<sup>th<\/sup> at Miller Park, on the corner of North 4<sup>th<\/sup> Street and East E Street. Miller Park will also host the following concerts on Sundays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>July 10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Los del RegioCalentano<\/li><li>July 17<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Super Escandalo<\/li><li>July 24<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Banda la Palmera<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Luther King Jr. Park, on the corner of South 8<sup>th<\/sup> Street and East Beech Street, will feature Viva La Musica concerts from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the following Sundays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>July 31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Explosion Musical<\/li><li>Aug. 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Rebeldes de la Sierra<\/li><li>Aug.14<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Los de Alla<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Viva La Musica&#8217;s finale for this summer will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 11<sup>th<\/sup> at Miller Park featuring Adventureros Musical Los Nuevos Coyotes and Los Hermanos Arroyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Outdoor Summer Cinema Series returns to the City&#8217;s Chesterley Park, on the corner of 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and River Road. The movies will each begin at sunset, about 8:30 pm, on six Sundays.
