Now, the brick has brand new caps and all imperfections to the facing have been repaired.\u00a0 The work was performed by JEI Masonry with the City assisting where needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the east parklet, sturdy and hand-crafted bistro tables have been added \u2013 one free standing and one with permanent seats. These tables were designed and fabricated by John O\u2019Rourke, current Code Compliance Officer for the City of Yakima and a member of the DAY Design committee. The circular borders of the tables consist of grates that were previously used to support trees in the downtown, displaying a tremendous spirit of sustainability and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And to top it all off, members of the DAY Design Committee have crafted a dazzling holiday light display in the two parklets. Headed up by O\u2019Rourke, the team brought to life an array of lights that bursts with holiday spirit.
