Events this year at Franklin Pool include a Dive \u2018N Movie event at 8:30 pm on Friday, June 30<sup>th<\/sup>. \u201cThe community is invited to turn a day at the pool into a night at the movies,\u201d said Parks &amp; Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. \u201cWatch <em>Luca<\/em> on a giant inflatable screen while floating on a tube under the stars at Franklin Pool.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The movie is free with pool admission. Participants will need to bring their own tubes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To close out the 2023 summer season, Franklin Pool will host its 17<sup>th<\/sup> annual Paws in the Pool event on Sunday, August 20<sup>th<\/sup>, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.&nbsp; Dogs and their owners will get to enjoy the pool on the last day of the season just as they have for over a decade. Paws in the Pool admission is free for dogs, but owners pay regular admission fees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lions Pool, 509 W. Pine Street, is scheduled to re-open Monday, June 19<sup>th<\/sup>. Lions Pool, the City of Yakima\u2019s indoor aquatics facility, has been closed since May 1<sup>st<\/sup> for improvements that include construction and installation of a new air handling and dehumidification system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to be able to re-open to the public and welcome them back,\u201d said Recreation Program Supervisor Jason Zeller.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yakima Parks &amp; Recreation staff also conducted annual maintenance at Lions Pool during the 6-week closure.
