The City of Yakima’s annual Outdoor Summer Cinema Series at Chesterley Park is fast approaching. It is an opportunity for Yakima residents to watch free movies under the stars for an inexpensive \u201cnight out\u201d for families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This cinema series not only adds to Yakima\u2019s overall quality of life but is a great opportunity to bring members of the community together for a pleasant evening in one of our wonderful parks,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yakima Parks and Recreation invites local businesses and community members to sponsor this summer’s series of five family-friendly movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Last year the cinema series was well attended and we anticipate this year\u2019s series to be even larger,” said Wilkinson. “The Outdoor Summer Cinema Series shows almost new and time-tested movies on a two-story high inflatable screen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This summer’s movies, beginning at dusk on Sunday nights, feature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
July 21 \u2013 Lilo & Stitch<\/p>\n\n\n\n
July 28 \u2013 Kicking & Screaming<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aug 4 \u2013 Paw Patrol \u2013 The Mighty Movie<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aug 11 \u2013 The Marvels<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aug 18 \u2013 The Super Mario Bros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each movie has a cost of approximately $1,000. Yakima Parks & Recreation seeks sponsorship for each movie. The cost covers the license to show the movie and the set up and take down of the large screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All donations to the Parks and Recreation Division are tax deductible. Sponsors will receive recognition in the 2024 Fall Recreation Program Guide, referenced on promotional flyers and an on-screen thank you at the beginning of each movie shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sponsors may also choose to set up a booth during the movie they sponsor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
