City of Yakima offices and most non-emergency services will close Wednesday, June 19th, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closures include City Hall, the Public Works office, the Y-PAC office and the Harman Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business offices for the police and fire departments will be closed. Emergency services will remain available. Yakima Municipal Court will be closed for the holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yakima Transit will not provide bus service on June 19th. Garbage pick-up will not be delayed, but the Refuse Division office will be closed June 19th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local events are planned to mark Juneteenth, including a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 15th<\/sup>, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Southeast Community Park, 1211 South 7th<\/sup> Street. It\u00a0includes live music, food vendors, Mr. & Ms. Juneteenth, free throw or 3-point challenge and resource booths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\u2019s celebration, with participation by several local organizations including Yakima Parks and Recreation, will be preceded by a Freedom Ride Caravan at 11:00 am. It begins at Central Lutheran Church, 1604 West Yakima Avenue, and ends at Southeast Community Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
