The Franklin City Council formally approved a contract with Oglesby earlier this month.&nbsp; Oglesby\u2019s last day on the job in Yakima will be August 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRosylen has been a true asset to the City of Yakima during the two-plus years she has served as assistant city manager,\u201d said City Manager Vicki Baker.&nbsp; Oglesby was hired as Yakima\u2019s assistant city manager in April 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRosylen utilized her experience and expertise to help improve processes and programs in many areas of the City.&nbsp; She will certainly be missed,\u201d said Baker.&nbsp; \u201cOn behalf of the City and the Yakima community, I thank Rosylen for her outstanding service here and wish her all the best in her new role back home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Yakima\u2019s assistant city manager, Oglesby worked closely with the city manager on a variety of issues and oversaw strategic projects related to economic development, human services, the Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field, and other City programs and services.&nbsp; She also served as interim finance director for the last several months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Franklin, Virginia is about 40 miles from Portsmouth, Virginia where Oglesby served in a variety of roles for the City of Portsmouth beginning in 2006.\u00a0 She began her tenure with the City of Portsmouth as a management analyst (2006-2010).\u00a0 She became the resource development and management coordinator in 2010 before being promoted to manager of management services in 2013.\u00a0 That same year, Oglesby was named assistant to the city manager, a position she held for two years.\u00a0 In 2015, Oglesby was again promoted, this time to the position of assistant city manager.\u00a0 She served as assistant city manager until she was hired by the City of Yakima in 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baker is in the process of evaluating how the assistant city manager position will be filled.\u00a0 In the meantime, responsibilities of the assistant city manager will be temporarily assigned to members of the City\u2019s senior staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div data-wp-interactive=\"core\/file\" class=\"wp-block-file\"><object data-wp-bind--hidden=\"!state.hasPdfPreview\" hidden class=\"wp-block-file__embed\" data=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Assistant-City-Manager-Appointed-City-Manager-in-Her-Home-State-News-Release.pdf\" type=\"application\/pdf\" style=\"width:100%;height:600px\" aria-label=\"Embed of Assistant City Manager Appointed City Manager in Her Home State - News Release.\"><\/object><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-ad09d69e-cbfb-448f-b980-a84c7d907416\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Assistant-City-Manager-Appointed-City-Manager-in-Her-Home-State-News-Release.pdf\">Assistant City Manager Appointed City Manager in Her Home State &#8211;
