Participants will meet in front of the City\u2019s Public Works building, 2301 Fruitvale Boulevard, at 9:30 am. Pre-registration is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis Winter Family Hiking Adventure is a fantastic opportunity for families to bond, learn and experience the great outdoors together,\u201d said Parks &amp; Recreation Director Ken Wilkinson. \u201cWhether you\u2019re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, this program promises fun, education and memories to last a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parks &amp; Recreation staff are organizing the event in partnership with The Cascadians, an outdoor recreation and conservation club in Yakima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Event details include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Following a brief orientation at the Public Works building, participants will carpool to a nearby trail head.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The hike is classified as an easy walk (beginner) and family friendly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distance will be between one to three miles. Participants will have options based on how far they would like to hike.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The event is scheduled to end at 12:30 pm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pets are welcome.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost is $5 per participant.
