{"id":15202,"date":"2025-04-25T11:58:54","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T18:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=15202"},"modified":"2025-04-25T11:58:56","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T18:58:56","slug":"free-community-cleanup-may-3rd-for-yakima-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/free-community-cleanup-may-3rd-for-yakima-neighborhood\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Community Cleanup May 3rd for Yakima Neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Residents in a Yakima neighborhood will have the opportunity for some spring cleaning on Saturday, May 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, during a free Community Cleanup event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Households located from Nob Hill Boulevard to Tieton Drive between 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and Landon Avenue can participate in a free cleanup from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on May 3<sup>rd<\/sup>. Residents in this area can bring their items to a temporary collection site on Arlington Avenue just north of Yakima Valley College where large dumpsters will be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteers will also drive trucks through the neighborhood from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm to assist with properly disposing of trash, brush and other bulky items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No commercial waste, construction or demolition debris, concrete, or hazardous waste will be accepted at the temporary disposal site. No loads will be accepted after 12:00 pm Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each household will be limited to no more than two tires (passenger car and small truck tires only).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No household hazardous waste will be accepted during the cleanup event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Friday evening or early Saturday morning before 7:00 am, gather the items you want to dispose of and stack them in separate piles next to the curb adjacent to your home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Items not at the curb by 8:00 am Saturday, May 3<sup>rd<\/sup> or blocked will not be picked up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not live in the area referenced above, please do not set items out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metals (i.e. washers, dryers, stoves, hot water tanks) must be kept separate for recycling by Poor Boys Auto Wrecking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yard waste clippings and trimmings will be accepted. No sod or stumps.
