The northeast area work will include areas along North 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Street, North 4<sup>th<\/sup> Street, East Q Street, East O Street and Oak Street. South central area improvements will include South 10<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and Woodland Avenue.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work is scheduled to begin today, Monday, June 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, in the northeast area. The project is expected to be completed February 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work on south central water and wastewater improvements is expected to begin Tuesday, October 7<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cResidents in these areas currently obtain their domestic water from individual private shallow wells and discharge waste to individual septic systems,\u201d said Water\/Irrigation Engineer Chad Redick. \u201cWe are excited to work with the community to provide access to these essential public services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roads will remain open to local traffic and driveway access will be maintained throughout the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traffic control devices will be in place during construction to direct traffic around the immediate areas of construction. Temporary road closures may be necessary at times, although detours will be in place to provide local access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the new water system is installed, there will be temporary water outages while the new system is being placed into service. A minimum of 24-hours advance notice will be provided for all scheduled water outages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for the $2,206,000 project is from the Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART Drought Resiliency grant program.
