Yakima Municipal Court is alerting the public to a scam involving fraudulent text messages that falsely claim recipients will face license suspension or additional fees if payment is not made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Court does not send text messages threatening the imposition of fees or driver\u2019s license suspension for failure to make a payment,\u201d said Court Services Manager Eva Heitzman. \u201cThese messages are not authorized by the Court and should be considered suspicious.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone who receives such a message is strongly advised not to respond, click on any links, or provide personal or financial information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese messages are likely part of a scam attempt to deceive recipients into sharing sensitive data or making unauthorized payments,\u201d said Heitzman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
