{"id":1544,"date":"2014-03-28T10:00:35","date_gmt":"2014-03-28T17:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=1544"},"modified":"2014-03-27T13:44:25","modified_gmt":"2014-03-27T20:44:25","slug":"pothole-filling-crack-repair-projects-affect-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/pothole-filling-crack-repair-projects-affect-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Pothole Filling and Crack Repair Projects to Affect Drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Traffic on a portion of Chestnut Avenue will be impacted by a project to fill potholes and repair roadway cracks from Monday, March 31<sup>st<\/sup> through Thursday, April 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.\u00a0 On Tuesday, April 1<sup>st<\/sup>, pothole filling and roadway crack repair will also require the closure of a section of 24<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>From March 31<sup>st<\/sup> through April 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, Chestnut between 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Avenue and 32<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue will be closed on a block-by-block basis from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm each day while City of Yakima Streets Division crews work on the project.\u00a0 Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the project area.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, April 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 24<sup>th<\/sup> between Lincoln Avenue and Summitview Avenue will be closed to all traffic from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm while City Streets Division fill potholes and repair roadway cracks.\u00a0 Any cars that are normally parked along that stretch of 24<sup>th<\/sup> should be moved prior to 9:00 am that day.\u00a0 Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the project area.<\/p>\n<p>While the work on Chestnut and 24<sup>th<\/sup> is underway, traffic delays in the areas are likely to occur.\u00a0 Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the projects are completed.<\/p>\n<p>Access to homes and businesses in the areas will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project areas when possible.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the schedule for these types of a projects is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&#8211; end &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Pothole-Filling-and-Crack-Repair-Projects-News-Release.pdf\">Pothole Filling and Crack Repair Projects &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Traffic on a portion of Chestnut Avenue will be impacted by a project to fill potholes and repair roadway cracks from Monday, March 31st through Thursday, April 3rd.\u00a0 On Tuesday, April 1st, pothole filling and roadway crack repair will also require the closure of a section of 24th Avenue.
