{"id":15570,"date":"2025-08-14T10:44:29","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T17:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=15570"},"modified":"2025-08-14T15:55:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T22:55:35","slug":"paws-in-the-pool-is-sunday-aug-24th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/paws-in-the-pool-is-sunday-aug-24th\/","title":{"rendered":"Paws in the Pool is Sunday, Aug. 24th"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Swimmers both human and canine are invited to the annual Paws in the Pool event from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 24<sup>th<\/sup>, at the City of Yakima&#8217;s Franklin Pool, 2101 Tieton Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yakima Parks and Recreation organizes the event for dogs and their owners each summer at Franklin Pool. Dogs swim for free but their owners pay the general admission fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All dog breeds, shapes and sizes are welcome.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pet owners must make sure their dogs are current on all shots and vaccinations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are also responsible for cleaning up any messes their dogs make.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No vicious or aggressive dogs are permitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dogs must be leashed until inside the pool area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>During Paws in the Pool, donations will be accepted for the Yakima Humane Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more about Paws in the Pool, contact Yakima Parks and Recreation at 509-575-6020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yakima Parks and Recreation program information is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\">https:\/\/yakimaparks.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>August 24<sup>th<\/sup> is the last day of operation at Franklin Pool not only for this summer, but for the foreseeable future.
