{"id":15635,"date":"2025-09-11T15:04:56","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T22:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=15635"},"modified":"2025-09-11T15:08:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T22:08:39","slug":"roundabout-at-72nd-avenue-opens-sept-12th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/roundabout-at-72nd-avenue-opens-sept-12th\/","title":{"rendered":"Roundabout at 72nd Avenue Opens Sept. 12th"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A new roundabout at the intersection of 72<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue and Washington Avenue opens at 3:00 pm tomorrow, Friday, September 12<sup>th<\/sup>, two months ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roundabout construction at 72<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;and Washington is funded entirely by state grants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe City of Yakima appreciates the public\u2019s patience as we complete this project,\u201d said Chief Engineer Dana Kallevig. \u201cWe encourage drivers to familiarize themselves with roundabouts and remember to yield as they enter a roundabout.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage roundabouts effectively, drivers should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yield to traffic inside the roundabout: Vehicles already in the roundabout have the right-of-way. Wait for a safe gap before entering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the correct lane: Based on the exit you plan to take, select the appropriate lane.
