{"id":15885,"date":"2025-12-03T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=15885"},"modified":"2025-12-03T10:50:53","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T18:50:53","slug":"yakima-parks-and-recreation-hosts-drive-thru-letters-to-santa-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/yakima-parks-and-recreation-hosts-drive-thru-letters-to-santa-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Yakima Parks and Recreation Hosts Drive-Thru Letters to Santa 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yakima Parks and Recreation is offering its 6<sup>th<\/sup> annual drive-thru Letters to Santa event at the City\u2019s Public Works facility, 2301 Fruitvale Boulevard, on Saturday, December 13<sup>th<\/sup>, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The free event features music, Yakima Christmas Trucks and a special mailbox for letters to Santa. Lighted features will include Christmas-themed inflatable displays. While supplies last, there will be free items available for children. Mrs. Claus will greet cars as they arrive at the mailbox to drop off their letters to Santa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers and passengers need to remain in their vehicles while proceeding through the event. In addition, drivers are asked to proceed on the following route (see map below):&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Approach the Public Works facility off of 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue on to J Street heading west.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turn left on 21<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turn right on Fruitvale Boulevard, then right into the Public Works parking lot\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After driving through the event, exit the parking lot and turn right on Fruitvale Boulevard\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Signs will direct traffic. Police will be on site to assist with traffic flow. Those not participating are encouraged to avoid the area if possible due to potential traffic delays.
