Anyone interested in applying for a position can submit their application to the City Clerk\u2019s Office no later than the end of business day on May 1, 2026<\/strong>. Some commissions require a supplemental application or resume to be submitted. Applications will be reviewed by the Council Nominating Committee. It is the responsibility of the Yakima City Council to appoint people to serve on the governing bodies of those organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Members of the Arts Commission<\/strong> serve 3-year terms. The agency representative <\/em>represents local arts organizations established by Council. The working artist <\/em>position shall be a person who has had his or her works of art exhibited in professional gallery spaces and\/or has had their work included in professionally juried exhibitions or permanent collections. The community member<\/em> position shall be from diverse backgrounds and have no vested interest in any particular art or cultural endeavor. At least three community reps shall be city residents. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
