The original schedule called for Adams Street to re-open tomorrow, Friday, April 10<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, work was&nbsp;impacted&nbsp;by&nbsp;unsuitable soil conditions. That has now been mitigated and the project, which addresses&nbsp;drainage issues and repairs a section of roadway,&nbsp;will continue&nbsp;through Monday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access&nbsp;is&nbsp;maintained&nbsp;to properties in the project areas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers are encouraged to avoid&nbsp;this section of&nbsp;Adams Street, if possible,&nbsp;which will remain open to local traffic only.&nbsp;Adams Street&nbsp;will be closed&nbsp;to thru&nbsp;traffic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact City of Yakima&nbsp;Wastewater\/Stormwater Superintendent&nbsp;Marc Cawley at 509-249-6854 for more about the&nbsp;project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The closure of Adams Street between S. 8th&nbsp;Street and S. 9th&nbsp;Street is extended to 3 pm Monday, April 13th.&nbsp; A stormwater project to restore curb and gutter on Adams Street began last Friday, April 3rd.
