This season the popular series will include more performers each show and will last about an hour longer than it did last year.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsored by Stewart Subaru and produced by the City of Yakima and Townsquare Media, the free and family-friendly <em>Downtown Summer Nights<\/em> series will run from June 12<sup>th<\/sup> through August 21<sup>st<\/sup> and will feature multiple performers every Thursday night on 4<sup>th<\/sup> Street behind the Capitol Theatre. All shows will begin at 5:00 pm and last until about 9:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The 11-show series will get underway on June 12<sup>th<\/sup> with Northwest favorites <em>Cody Beebe &amp; The Crooks<\/em>, Seattle-based <em>Sammy Witness &amp; The Reassignment<\/em>, and <em>Fall Days<\/em>, a band from Western Washington made up of young musicians. The June 19<sup>th<\/sup> show will feature the popular <em>Yogoman Burning Band<\/em>, <em>Village<\/em>, a band originally from Yakima which is now becoming known worldwide, and the Americana sounds of <em>Bradford Loomis<\/em>. On June 26<sup>th<\/sup>, the folk\/rock\/Americana group <em>Jeff Crosby &amp; The Refugees <\/em>will take to the <em>Downtown Summer Nights<\/em> stage along with soul\/folk band <em>The Wicks<\/em>, and singer\/songwriter <em>Nick Foster<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>On July 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, Portland-based blues\/rock performers <em>Tango Alpha Tango<\/em> will be featured, as will Yakima favorite <em>Shoot Jake<\/em> and <em>Olivia de la Cruz<\/em> and her lyrical take on soul and rock music. July 10<sup>th<\/sup> will bring country foursome <em>Aces Up<\/em> to Yakima from Enumclaw along with honky-tonk band <em>Sam Platts and the Kootenai Three<\/em> from Coeur d\u2019Alene, Idaho, and will also feature Yakima\u2019s own <em>Zach Hinson<\/em>, who last year competed on NBC\u2019s <em>The Voice<\/em>. Northwest funk\/soul group <em>Snug Harbor<\/em> will head up the July 17<sup>th<\/sup> show and will be joined by <em>Tim Snider and Caio Andreatta<\/em>, who play an eclectic blend of music, and <em>Redwood Sun<\/em>, an Americana\/West Coast\/rock roots band from Portland. The <em>Downtown Summer Nights<\/em> performance on July 24<sup>th<\/sup> will include the unconventional pop music of <em>Ben Union<\/em>, alternative band<em> Rags and Ribbons<\/em>, and Seattle singer\/songwriter <em>Tommy Simmons<\/em>. The month will be closed out by folk\/rock group <em>Vaudeville Etiquette<\/em>, <em>Planes on Paper<\/em> (the duo of Navid Elliot and Jen Borst), and contemporary singer\/songwriter <em>Shane Alexander<\/em> on July 31<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The funk and jazz of <em>McTuff<\/em>, along with the rock n\u2019 roll of <em>Whiskey Syndicate<\/em> and the Americana of <em>The Common Deer<\/em> will fill 4<sup>th<\/sup> Street on August 7<sup>th<\/sup>. American Rock band <em>Massy Ferguson<\/em>, good-time rock n\u2019 roll band <em>Root Jack<\/em>, and the highly energetic and engaging performers of <em>NoRey<\/em> will be featured on August 14<sup>th<\/sup>. The series will end its 2014 run with instrumentalist <em>Blake Noble<\/em>, Ellensburg\u2019s <em>Open Country Joy<\/em>, and <em>Hey! Is For Horses<\/em> from Spokane on August 21<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Food vendors, a beer and wine garden, and kid\u2019s activities provided by Yakima Maker Space will also be part of the <em>Downtown Summer Nights<\/em> events.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Downtown Summer Nights <\/em>website \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.downtownsummernights.com\/\">www.downtownsummernights.com<\/a> \u2013 includes a complete list of musical performers, information about how vendors can sign up for booth space, and other news about the series.
