The City is spending about $15 million dollars this year completing a \u201cgrind and overlay\u201d project, which involves removing old and deteriorated asphalt and replacing it with new asphalt, in order to recondition more than 90 lane miles of roadway sections in different parts of Yakima.<\/p>\n<p>From Monday, June 23<sup>rd<\/sup> through Friday, June 27<sup>th<\/sup>, periodic lane closures will occur each day from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm on 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Fruitvale Boulevard and River Road, on 24<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Washington Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard, on Yakima Avenue between 12<sup>th<\/sup> Avenueand 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, and on Tieton Drive between 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 32<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The following sections of streets will be completely closed to traffic overnight from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am on different days during the week of June 23<sup>rd<\/sup> to June 27<sup>th<\/sup>:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between River Road and Englewood Avenue \u2013 June 23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Englewood and Summitview Avenue \u2013 June 24<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Fruitvale and Summitview \u2013 June 25<sup>th<\/sup> and June 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lincoln Avenue between 24<sup>th<\/sup> and 32<sup>nd<\/sup> \u2013 June 26<sup>th<\/sup> and June 27<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 24<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Washington and Nob Hill \u2013 June 25<sup>th<\/sup> and June 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tieton between 16<sup>th<\/sup> and 32<sup>nd<\/sup> \u2013 June 23<sup>rd<\/sup> through June 25<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Summitview between Yakima and 16<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 June 25<sup>th<\/sup> and June 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 West MLK, Jr. Boulevard between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue and Pierce Avenue \u2013 June 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and<\/p>\n<p>June 24<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pierce between Summitview and Lincoln \u2013 June 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and June 25<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Walnut Avenue between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street and 7<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue \u2013 June 23<sup>rd<\/sup> through June 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 D Street between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue and 5<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue \u2013 June 23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 East MLK, Jr. Boulevard between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street and 8<sup>th<\/sup> Street \u2013 June 24<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 East Lincoln Avenue between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street and 10<sup>th<\/sup> Street \u2013 June 25<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North 6<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Yakima Avenue and H Street \u2013 June 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Detour routes will be in place so drivers can go around the closed portions of those streets.<\/p>\n<p>A map showing the sections of roads that will be repaved during the project is posted on the City\u2019s website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/streets\/resurfacing\/\">https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/streets\/resurfacing\/<\/a>.
