{"id":19,"date":"2013-03-08T15:58:11","date_gmt":"2013-03-08T15:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=19"},"modified":"2013-03-12T09:12:11","modified_gmt":"2013-03-12T16:12:11","slug":"railroad-underpass-project-will-close-road-from-1st-ave-to-1st-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/railroad-underpass-project-will-close-road-from-1st-ave-to-1st-street\/","title":{"rendered":"Railroad Underpass Project Will Close Road from 1st Ave. to 1st Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Contact:<\/strong> Utilities &amp; Engineering Director Debbie Cook \u2013 575-6120<br \/>\nCommunity Relations Manager Randy Beehler \u2013 901-1142<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, March 11th, construction crews will close down MLK, Jr. Boulevard to allow for work to begin on a new multi-million dollar railroad underpass project.\u00a0 The closure will be between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue and 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street and should last into late summer or early fall of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>While MLK, Jr. Blvd. west of 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue will remain open to local traffic during construction, eastbound drivers on MLK, Jr. Blvd. are encouraged to turn right on 5<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and use Yakima Avenue to reach downtown Yakima.
