The project involves reconditioning more than 90 lane miles of roads and will cost a total of $15 million. The \u201cgrind and overlay\u201d project is now just over one-third complete.<\/p>\n<p>From Monday, August 11<sup>th<\/sup> through Friday, August 15<sup>th<\/sup>, periodic lane closures will occur each day from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm on Walnut Street between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street and 7<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, on Lincoln Avenue from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street to 10<sup>th<\/sup> Street, on Lincoln from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue to 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, on 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue from Division Street to Walnut, and on MLK, Jr. Boulevard from Pierce Avenue to 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Various sections of the following streets will be also be completely closed to traffic overnight from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am on different days during the week of August 11<sup>th<\/sup> to August 15<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nob Hill Blvd from 32<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue to 48<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue from Nob Hill Boulevard to Englewood Avenue<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue from Division to Walnut<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue from Walnut to Yakima Avenue<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 MLK, Jr. Blvd from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street to 8<sup>th<\/sup> Street<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 MLK, Jr. Blvd from Pierce to 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Walnut from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street to 8<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 D Street from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue to 5<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lincoln Avenue from 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street to 9<sup>th<\/sup> Street<\/p>\n<p>Detour routes will be in place so drivers can go around the closed portions of those streets.<\/p>\n<p>A map showing the sections of roads that will be repaved during the project is posted on the City\u2019s website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/streets\/resurfacing\/\">https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/streets\/resurfacing\/<\/a>. Updated travel alerts related to the resurfacing project can also be found by clicking on that link.<\/p>\n<p>While the grind and overlay work is underway, traffic delays in the project areas will occur.
