Fortunately, this is only a simulation and the City of Yakima Fire Department is on hand to show visitors how to safely evacuate the home.<br \/>\nAdditionally, the Red Cross is on site to ensure that visitors go home savvier and equipped with to<br \/>\nprepare a disaster preparedness kit.<\/p>\n<p>This free community event takes place at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 13th at 5005 Homesite Drive in Yakima during the second weekend of the 33rd annual Central Washington Tour of Homes.<br \/>\n\u201cThis is an especially timely demonstration event given the recent spate of fires in and around our communities\u201d, explained Carly Faul, Central Washington Home Builder Association Executive Director.\u00a0 The fire department will simulate a fire alarm going off and create real life effects with the using fake smoke to provide a realistic demonstration for how to evacuate a home safely.<br \/>\nIn addition to firsthand learning from the real life experience, the Red Cross will provide visitors with a chance to win a disaster preparedness kit and CWHBA will add a helpful fire relief brochure.<\/p>\n<p>Carly Faul added, \u201cOur builder members care deeply about the communities they live and work in and ensure that their homes are equipped with modern safety measures like smoke alarms, but if the worst can\u2019t be prevented, it\u2019s nice to know how to be prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>About Central Washington Home Builders Association<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Central Washington Home Builders Association is comprised of 730 member businesses employing nearly<br \/>\n10,000 people.
