{"id":2232,"date":"2014-10-10T16:46:15","date_gmt":"2014-10-10T23:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=2232"},"modified":"2014-10-10T16:46:15","modified_gmt":"2014-10-10T23:46:15","slug":"citywide-road-resurfacing-project-update-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/citywide-road-resurfacing-project-update-21\/","title":{"rendered":"Citywide Road Resurfacing Project Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An ongoing citywide street repaving project that began in May will affect traffic in several areas of Yakima from October 13<sup>th<\/sup> through October 17<sup>th<\/sup>. The project involves reconditioning more than 90 lane miles of roads and will cost a total of $15 million. The project is now 90% complete.<\/p>\n<p>While paving is scheduled to be completed soon, additional work on the project will continue for the next month or so. Utility adjustments, concrete work, striping, general cleanup, and other activities will still need to be finished.<\/p>\n<p>From Monday, October 13<sup>th<\/sup> through Thursday, October 16<sup>th<\/sup>, periodic lane closures will occur each day from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm on Washington Avenue between 15<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street.<\/p>\n<p>Various sections of the following streets will be also be completely closed to traffic overnight from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am on different days during the week of October 3<sup>th<\/sup> through October 16<sup>th<\/sup>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nob Hill Boulevard between 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 48<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue<\/li>\n<li>D Street between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue and 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street<\/li>\n<li>Mead Avenue between 11<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and Fair Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Washington Avenue between 15<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 1<sup>st<\/sup> Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Detour routes will be in place so drivers can go around the closed portions of those streets.<\/p>\n<p>A map showing the sections of roads that will be repaved during the project is posted on the City\u2019s website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/streets\/resurfacing\/\">https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/streets\/resurfacing\/<\/a>. Updated travel alerts related to the resurfacing project can also be found by clicking on that link.<\/p>\n<p>While the grind and overlay work is underway, traffic delays in the project areas will occur.
