Based on the positive reaction to the inaugural run of the free, family-friendly series in 2014, it is being expanded significantly for its sophomore season this year.<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 <em>Viva la M\u00fasica Concert Series <\/em>will feature ten shows on consecutive Sundays from July 12<sup>th<\/sup> through September 13<sup>th<\/sup>. All of the performances will take place at Miller Park.<\/p>\n<p><em>Leopardo Salvaje<\/em> will open this year\u2019s <em>Viva la M\u00fasica Concert Series<\/em> on July 12<sup>th<\/sup>. <em>Los Pumas de Jalisco<\/em> will take to the <em>Viva la M\u00fasica <\/em>stage on July 19<sup>th<\/sup>. On July 26<sup>th<\/sup>, the featured act at Miller Park will be <em>Enamorados<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The first <em>Viva la M\u00fasica Concert Series<\/em> show in August will be on August 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and will showcase <em>Principio de Tierra Caliente<\/em>. The August 9<sup>th<\/sup> performance will feature <em>Banda Reyna del Sur<\/em>, the August 16<sup>th<\/sup> show will be headlined by <em>Grupo Antifaz<\/em>, and on August 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, <em>Chikos de la Banda<\/em> will be on stage. The last show in August will be on August 30<sup>th<\/sup> and will welcome <em>Hermanos Gonzalez<\/em> to the <em>Viva la M\u00fasica Concert Series.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The September 6<sup>th<\/sup> show will bring <em>Sinceridad de Sierra<\/em> to Yakima. The performances in July and August, along with the September 6<sup>th<\/sup> show, will all begin at 5:00 pm and last until about 7:00 pm. The shows are free and families are encouraged to bring picnic dinners to Miller Park.<\/p>\n<p>The final performance of the 2015 <em>Viva la M\u00fasica Concert Series <\/em>will take place on September 13<sup>th<\/sup> and run from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The show will feature special music celebrating Mexico\u2019s Independence Day (September 16<sup>th<\/sup>). Three different bands will perform during the September 13<sup>th<\/sup> show \u2013 <em>Rebeldes de la Sierra<\/em>, <em>Corazon de Tierra Caliente<\/em>, and <em>Banda Centenario<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe audiences for last year\u2019s shows grew and grew as the series progressed,\u201d said Yakima Parks &amp; Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. \u201cWe knew that we were providing the kind of event and the types of performances that were wanted in Yakima.
