Yakima Transit is going to the Fair again this year and invites everyone to ride along with us! Yakima Transit Shuttlebuses will be providing FREE, direct Park and Ride service to the Central Washington State Fair all ten days of the Fair. Shuttlebuses will run continuously from the Park and Ride location at Gateway Center with the bus stop located north of Office Max and across from the Visitors Center and ride directly to the front gates of the Fair.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year\u2019s service is being operated the same as in previous years since it has been very successful and people have come to count on it,\u201d according to Alvie Maxey, Transit Manager. \u201cShuttlebuses begin operating \u00bd hour prior to the Fair opening each day and end \u00bd hour after the Fair closes at night. People who are working at the Fair have come to rely on us as well as lots of people going to enjoy all the rides, displays and shows. We\u2019ve had many people tell us the Shuttlebus really is the best way to get to and from the event!\u201d<\/p>\n

All regular bus routes and schedules will operate normally throughout the Fair with standard fares being charged. The #6 Fair Ave.\/No. 4st<\/sup> St. route also serves the Fairgrounds at least hourly from the Downtown Transit Center until 6:25 pm.<\/p>\n

Due to the Sunfair Parade on Saturday morning, September 26th, bus service on all routes will start at 12:45 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0 Shuttlebuses will not be affected by the parade and will run their scheduled service that day.<\/p>\n
