The event will start at 6:00 pm with a musical performance by Tim Snider (6:00 pm \u2013 6:40 pm).  At 6:40 pm, Santa will help Yakima\u2019s Community Christmas Tree spring to life during a special lighting ceremony.  Free photos with Santa will also be available inside Ron&#8217;s Coin and Collectibles (6th N. 3rd Street) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Joseph, a band consisting of three sisters, will then take the stage and entertain the crowd until 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, December 3rd, Yakima Valley Tourism will hold its 26th Annual Holiday Reception &amp; Silent Auction from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Yakima Convention Center.<\/p>\n<p>Friday, December 4th will feature multiple First Friday activities at a variety of Downtown Yakima businesses and performances by Olate Dogs at the Capitol Theatre at 7:00 pm and Polyrhythmics at the Seasons Performance Hall at 7:30 pm.  On Saturday, December 5th, Seattle Rock Opera presents: Led Zeppelin will take to the Seasons stage at 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The activities on Sunday, December 6th begin with the Yakima Symphony Chorus performing traditional Christmas favorites during its Christmas Pops Spectacular starting at 4:00 pm at the Capitol Theatre.  At 6:00 pm, the 16th Annual Holiday Lighted Parade will fill Yakima Avenue from 6th Avenue to 3rd Street.  The parade will be led by runners and walkers participating in Dasher\u2019s Dash, a 1-mile race\/walk sponsored by the Yakima Roteract Club.  Dasher\u2019s Dash will follow the parade route from 6th Avenue to 3rd Street.  The cost is $15.00 per person.  Registration can be taken care of ahead of time online at facebook.com\/yakimarotoract or before the race at the Salvation Army beginning at 5:00 pm.  <\/p>\n<p>The Orion Cinema will feature A Christmas Story as its Tuesday, December 8th Classic Movie Night offering (all shows currently sold out).  The Seasons Performance Hall will welcome Cataldo &amp; the Marshall McLean Band on Friday, December 11th beginning at 8:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Free horse drawn carriage rides will be available on December 11th and 18th from<br \/>\n5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on December 5th, 12th, and 19th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will board at both the Millennium Plaza and the Train Depot on North Front Street. <\/p>\n<p>Second Saturday (Saturday, December 12th) will see the second opportunity for free pictures with Santa at Ron\u2019s Coin and Collectibles from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the Eugene Ballet Company performing The Nutcracker at the Capitol Theatre at both 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. <\/p>\n<p>The busy season in Downtown Yakima will also include the Yakima Youth Symphony Orchestra\u2019s winter concert at the Capitol Theatre on Sunday, December 13th at 3:00 pm and A Holiday Cabaret with Charlie and Al at the 4th Street Theatre on Tuesday, December 22nd at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>A complete list of Downtown Yakima holiday festivities can be found on the Downtown Yakima website at www.downtownyakima.com.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Downtown-Yakima-Winter-Wonderland-Events-News-Release.pdf\">Downtown Yakima Winter Wonderland Events &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The calendar is full of family fun holiday festivities this season in Downtown Yakima.
