{"id":3398,"date":"2016-04-11T09:40:48","date_gmt":"2016-04-11T16:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=3398"},"modified":"2016-04-11T09:40:48","modified_gmt":"2016-04-11T16:40:48","slug":"permit-center-temporarily-adjusting-hours-training-new-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/permit-center-temporarily-adjusting-hours-training-new-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Permit Center Temporarily Adjusting Hours for Training on New System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Yakima\u2019s Permit Center, which is located on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> floor of Yakima City Hall (129 N. 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Street), will temporarily adjust the hours it is open to the public on three days over the next few weeks so staff can be trained on a new computer system.<\/p>\n<p>The Permit Center is normally open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Wednesdays.\u00a0 On Thursday April 14<sup>th<\/sup> and Thursday April 21<sup>st<\/sup>, the Permit Center will open one hour later than usual.\u00a0 On those two Thursdays, the center will be open to the public from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, April 29<sup>th<\/sup>, the Permit Center will close at noon and will remain closed the remainder of that day.<\/p>\n<p>The temporary adjustments to the hours the Permit Center will be open on April 14<sup>th<\/sup>, April 21<sup>st<\/sup>, and April 29<sup>th<\/sup> are necessary to allow staff to be trained on new \u201cSMARTGov\u201d software.\u00a0 The City is transitioning to using SMARTGov software to provide certain services to its customers.\u00a0 According to its website, SMARTGov provides, \u201cFlexible cloud based solutions that streamline permitting, plan review, code enforcement, inspections, and licensing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Full implementation of the SMARTGov software will occur on Monday, May 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to the efficiencies that SMARTGov will bring to our office and the higher level of customer service we\u2019ll be able to provide,\u201d said Code Administration Manager Joe Caruso.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019re adjusting the Permit Center hours for a few days so that our staff will be ready to go when we launch SMARTGov on May 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the Permit Center\u2019s temporary hours adjustments, the City\u2019s Engineering Division, which is usually accessible through the Permit Center, will be able to be reached by phone at 575-6111.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Permit-Center-Temporary-Hours-Adjustments-News-Release.pdf\" rel=\"\">Permit Center Temporary Hours Adjustments &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Yakima\u2019s Permit Center, which is located on the 2nd floor of Yakima City Hall (129 N. 2nd Street), will temporarily adjust the hours it is open to the public on three days over the next few weeks so staff can be trained on a new computer system.
