{"id":3432,"date":"2016-04-19T16:34:50","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T23:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=3432"},"modified":"2016-04-19T16:45:21","modified_gmt":"2016-04-19T23:45:21","slug":"may-19th-yakima-council-meeting-cancelled-due-lack-quorum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/may-19th-yakima-council-meeting-cancelled-due-lack-quorum\/","title":{"rendered":"April 19th Yakima Council Meeting Cancelled Due to Lack of Quorum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the lack of a quorum being able to attend the Yakima City Council business meeting scheduled for tonight at 6:00 pm, the meeting has been cancelled and all of the items on the April 19<sup>th<\/sup> agenda will be moved to the May 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Council business meeting agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Three Council members, Mayor Avina Guti\u00e9rrez, Councilmember Dulce Guti\u00e9rrez, and Councilmember Carmen M\u00e9ndez, are part of a Yakima sister-city delegation currently visiting Morelia, Mexico.\u00a0 Councilmember Maureen Adkison is ill and is not able to attend the meeting scheduled for tonight.<\/p>\n<p>For business to be conducted at a meeting, a quorum (four members) of the Council must be in attendance.\u00a0 With Councilmember Adkison unable to attend the meeting scheduled for this evening, no business could have been conducted, so the meeting has been cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council and City Manager\u2019s office apologize for any inconvenience the cancellation of the business meeting scheduled for tonight may cause.<\/p>\n<p>For more information regarding the cancellation of the Yakima City Council meeting scheduled for tonight, contact Communications &amp; Public Affairs Director Randy Beehler by phone (901-1142) or by e-mail (randy.beehler@yakimawa.gov).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/April-19th-Yakima-Council-Meeting-Cancelled-News-Release-1.pdf\">April 19th Yakima Council Meeting Cancelled &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the lack of a quorum being able to attend the Yakima City Council business meeting scheduled for tonight at 6:00 pm, the meeting has been cancelled and all of the items on the April 19th agenda will be moved to the May 3rd Council business meeting agenda.
