{"id":3447,"date":"2016-04-26T14:24:39","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T21:24:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=3447"},"modified":"2016-04-26T14:24:39","modified_gmt":"2016-04-26T21:24:39","slug":"yakima-city-manager-finalists-scheduled-town-may-9th-10th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/yakima-city-manager-finalists-scheduled-town-may-9th-10th\/","title":{"rendered":"Yakima City Manager Finalists Scheduled to be in Town May 9th &amp; 10th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finalists for the Yakima city manager position will attend a reception open to the community on the evening of Monday, May 9<sup>th<\/sup> and will then be interviewed on Tuesday, May 10<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The Prothman Company, the executive search firm hired by the Yakima City Council to oversee the city manager hiring process, proposed the May 9<sup>th<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup> dates as part of its original recruitment schedule.\u00a0 Today City staff confirmed facilities are available for the reception and interviews those days.<\/p>\n<p>The Yakima city manager position was advertised from late February through mid-April.\u00a0 From a total of 20 applicants, The Prothman Company presented the Yakima Council with a pool of eight semi-finalists.\u00a0 During an April 25<sup>th<\/sup> executive session, the City Council reviewed the semi-finalist pool.<\/p>\n<p>The number of candidates that will be included in the finalist pool and the format for the May 10<sup>th<\/sup> interviews will likely be announced by the Council at its May 3<sup>rd<\/sup> business meeting.\u00a0 Once the finalist candidates have been notified, their names will be released.<\/p>\n<p>The Monday, May 9<sup>th<\/sup> community reception will take place at the Yakima Convention Center in the lobby outside the South Ballroom.\u00a0 The reception is scheduled to last from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will be open to anyone wanting to meet the finalist candidates.<\/p>\n<p>In January of this year, the City Council launched a process to find a replacement for Tony O\u2019Rourke, who served as Yakima city manager from July 2012 through December 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Yakima-City-Manager-Hiring-Process-News-Release.pdf\">Yakima City Manager Hiring Process &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finalists for the Yakima city manager position will attend a reception open to the community on the evening of Monday, May 9th and will then be interviewed on Tuesday, May 10th.
