{"id":3490,"date":"2016-05-11T08:51:20","date_gmt":"2016-05-11T15:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=3490"},"modified":"2016-05-11T08:51:20","modified_gmt":"2016-05-11T15:51:20","slug":"free-community-cleanup-yakima-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/free-community-cleanup-yakima-neighborhood\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Community Cleanup for Yakima Neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People living in an area between Yakima Valley Community College and Davis High School will have the opportunity to help spruce up their neighborhoods on Saturday, May 14<sup>th<\/sup> during a One-Day Community Cleanup event being sponsored by the City of Yakima, Shields Bag and Printing, Safe Yakima Valley, Habitat for Humanity, Yakima Waste Systems, and the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce.\u00a0 Volunteers from Yakima area churches are also pitching in to support the event.<\/p>\n<p>Only households located in the area bordered by Tieton Drive to the north, Nob Hill Boulevard to the south, 16th Avenue to the west, and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Avenue to the east are eligible to participate in the free cleanup.\u00a0 From 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, people living in that area can either place bagged or boxed household garbage, tires, scrap metal, recyclables, yard waste, or electronics on the curb near their homes or take those items to a drop site located on West Arlington Street near Larson Park.<\/p>\n<p>No commercial waste, construction or demolition debris, concrete, or hazardous waste will be picked up or accepted at the drop site.<\/p>\n<p>Each household will be limited to no more than four tires (passenger car and small truck tires only). No household hazardous waste will be accepted during the cleanup event.
