{"id":3566,"date":"2016-06-13T09:12:27","date_gmt":"2016-06-13T16:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=3566"},"modified":"2016-06-13T09:12:27","modified_gmt":"2016-06-13T16:12:27","slug":"72nd-mead-intersection-improvements-impact-traffic-august","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/72nd-mead-intersection-improvements-impact-traffic-august\/","title":{"rendered":"72nd and Mead Intersection Improvements to Impact Traffic through August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A project that includes various improvements to the intersection of 72<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue and Mead Avenue will impact traffic from now until the project is completed, which is scheduled to occur in late August.<\/p>\n<p>The project began today (June 13<sup>th<\/sup>) and includes the installation of a new traffic signal system at the 72<sup>nd<\/sup> and Mead intersection.\u00a0 The project also includes installing curb, gutter, and sidewalk along the south side of Zier Road between 72<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue and 75<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue.\u00a0 Several other associated improvements are also included in the project.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the project, traffic in the immediate project area will be impacted.\u00a0 On weekdays between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, curbside lane closures will occur daily, and Zier Road between 72<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue and 75<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue will be closed to all traffic periodically.<\/p>\n<p>Because of heavy traffic volumes in the area, drivers can expect delays in and around the project area until the work is completed.\u00a0 Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.<\/p>\n<p>Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.\u00a0 Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information about this project, contact Construction Supervisor Bruce Floyd at 575-6138.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/72nd-and-Mead-Intersection-Improvement-News-Release.pdf\">72nd and Mead Intersection Improvement &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A project that includes various improvements to the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Mead Avenue will impact traffic from now until the project is completed, which is scheduled to occur in late August.
