{"id":4073,"date":"2017-01-10T12:20:56","date_gmt":"2017-01-10T20:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=4073"},"modified":"2017-01-10T12:20:56","modified_gmt":"2017-01-10T20:20:56","slug":"city-crews-working-two-water-main-breaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/city-crews-working-two-water-main-breaks\/","title":{"rendered":"City Crews Working on Two Water Main Breaks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>City of Yakima crews are currently working on two water main breaks that occurred earlier today.\u00a0 As a result of the two water main breaks, water service to specific areas has been temporarily affected and traffic in the areas near the breaks is being impacted.<\/p>\n<p>One of the water main breaks occurred in the 4100 block of Richey Road.\u00a0 Water service has temporarily been shut off to customers on Richey Road between 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 42<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue.\u00a0 The section of Richey Road between 40<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 42<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue is temporarily closed while crews work to resolve the water main break and remove debris.<\/p>\n<p>A second water main break occurred in the vicinity of 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and Willow Street.\u00a0 Water service has temporarily been shut off to customers on 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Englewood Avenue\/Cherry Avenue and Willow Street.\u00a0 The section of 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Roosevelt Avenue and Jerome Avenue is temporarily closed while crews work to resolve the water main break and remove debris.\u00a0 One lane in each direction along the section of 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue between Roosevelt and Jerome should be reopened soon.\u00a0 However, Englewood between 18<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 15<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue is closed and will remain closed until the water break is resolved.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, there is no specific estimate regarding when the water main breaks will be fixed and when water service that has been temporarily shut off will be restored.<\/p>\n<p>Updates on the water main breaks on Richey Road and 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue will be provided as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the two water main breaks, contact Water Distribution Supervisor Emilio Lopez at 575-6196.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Water-Main-Breaks-News-Release.pdf\">Water Main Breaks &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>City of Yakima crews are currently working on two water main breaks that occurred earlier today.\u00a0 As a result of the two water main breaks, water service to specific areas has been temporarily affected and traffic in the areas near the breaks is being impacted.
