{"id":4312,"date":"2017-04-21T09:49:16","date_gmt":"2017-04-21T16:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=4312"},"modified":"2017-04-21T09:49:16","modified_gmt":"2017-04-21T16:49:16","slug":"free-earth-day-cleanup-yakima-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/free-earth-day-cleanup-yakima-neighborhood\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Earth Day Cleanup for Yakima Neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People living in a portion of the north-central section of Yakima will have the opportunity to help spruce up their neighborhoods on Earth Day during a one-day community cleanup event on Saturday, April 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 More than 300 volunteers from Yakima area churches, schools, and other organizations will also be pitching in to support the event.<\/p>\n<p>Only households located in the area bordered by I Street to the north, Lincoln Avenue to the south, 16th Avenue to the west, and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Avenue to the east are eligible to participate in the free cleanup.\u00a0 From 8:00 am to noon, people living in that area can either place bagged or boxed household garbage, tires, scrap metal, recyclables, yard waste, or electronics on the curb near their homes or take those items to a drop site located in the City of Yakima Public Works facility parking lot at 2301 Fruitvale Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p>No commercial waste, construction or demolition debris, concrete, or hazardous waste will be picked up or accepted at the drop site.\u00a0 No loads will be accepted at the drop site after 1:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Each household will be limited to no more than four tires (passenger car and small truck tires only). No household hazardous waste will be accepted during the cleanup event.
