{"id":4368,"date":"2017-05-16T13:39:33","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T20:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=4368"},"modified":"2017-05-16T13:39:33","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T20:39:33","slug":"paving-close-section-englewood-66th-avenue-intersection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/paving-close-section-englewood-66th-avenue-intersection\/","title":{"rendered":"Paving to Close Section Englewood and 66th Avenue Intersection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The intersection of Englewood Avenue and 66<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue will be closed for most of two days this week while the first phase of a paving project is completed.<\/p>\n<p>The Englewood and 66<sup>th<\/sup> intersection will closed at 6:00 am on Wednesday, May 17<sup>th<\/sup> and remain closed until 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 18<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage.\u00a0 Flaggers will also be on site to help drivers navigate away from the work area.<\/p>\n<p>The paving of the Englewood and 66<sup>th<\/sup> intersection will be completed in two phases.\u00a0 The first phase will involve the laying of the first layers of asphalt.\u00a0 The second phase, which will be completed on Monday, May 20<sup>th<\/sup>, will involve adding layers of asphalt, which will bring the pavement level in the intersection even with that of intersecting roads.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.<\/p>\n<p>During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.\u00a0 Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.<\/p>\n<p>Access to homes in the area will be maintained as best as possible.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Paving-at-Englewood-and-66th-Avenue-Intersection-News-Release.pdf\">Paving at Englewood and 66th Avenue Intersection &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The intersection of Englewood Avenue and 66th Avenue will be closed for most of two days this week while the first phase of a paving project is completed.
