Two community forums held last week about violence are airing on the Yakima Public Affairs Channel (Y-PAC), Charter Cable Channel 194.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One is Gov. Jay Inslee’s listening tour stop in Yakima on Thursday, October 5<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>, at the Fourth Street Theatre. It focused on gang violence and gun-related crimes. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“I don’t want the Yakima area to be defined just by this challenge. There are so many positive things going on in this community today,” Inslee said. “This is a place with a great future and a great present that’s willing to step up to the plate and face this significant challenge.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Inslee’s listening tour airs at 5:30 pm tonight on Channel 194 and can be viewed on-line at <\/span>http:\/\/bit.ly\/2yWWrk9<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The second event airing on Y-PAC is the Stop the Violence Forum held on Saturday, October 7<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish. The featured speaker was Fr. Gregory J. Boyle, SJ., author of a New York Times best-selling book on “Boundless Compassion.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The forum will air at 7:00 pm tonight on Charter Cable Channel 194 and, like Inslee’s visit, can be viewed anytime on-line by clicking <\/span><\/span>http:\/\/bit.ly\/2yDj54U<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
