It is in effect from 4:00 am today, Thursday, December 28<sup>th<\/sup> through 12:00 pm tomorrow, Friday, December 29<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory is due to a low pressure system that is expected to spread snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain over the area through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The NWS anticipates snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulation of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Yakima urges residents to use caution when driving during the weather advisory and to limit travel if possible.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/snow-routes\/\">https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/apps\/snow-routes\/<\/a> for a map of the City of Yakima&#8217;s snow routes, where cars may be towed if plows need to get through during storms that drop at least 3 inches of snow.<\/p>\n<p>The map also shows the priority for citywide snow plow routes when storms drop at least 3 inches of snow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Winter-Weather-Advisory-News-Release-2.pdf\">Winter Weather Advisory &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Weather Service (&#8220;NWS&#8221;) has issued a winter weather advisory for the Yakima area.
