{"id":5396,"date":"2018-01-25T08:29:27","date_gmt":"2018-01-25T16:29:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=5396"},"modified":"2018-01-25T08:40:16","modified_gmt":"2018-01-25T16:40:16","slug":"track-removal-close-3rd-avenue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/track-removal-close-3rd-avenue\/","title":{"rendered":"Track Removal to Close 3rd Avenue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Work to remove a traffic hazard will temporarily close a section of 3<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">rd<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000\"> Avenue this Friday, January 26<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000\"> City of Yakima crews will remove a section of trolley track that poses a hazard to motorists at the intersection of 3<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">rd<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000\"> Avenue and Pine Street. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The project will require closing both southbound lanes of 3<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">rd<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000\"> Avenue from Walnut Street to Division Street\u00a0from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During that same time, northbound traffic on 3<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: small\">rd<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000\"> Avenue will be reduced to one lane in the work area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Signage, detours, and flaggers will be present to guide motorists during the trolley track removal project.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.\u00a0 Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Track-Removal-to-Close-3rd-Avenue-News-Release-1.pdf\">Track Removal to Close 3rd Avenue &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Work to remove a traffic hazard will temporarily close a section of 3rd Avenue this Friday, January 26th.
