{"id":5759,"date":"2018-04-19T13:27:14","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T20:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=5759"},"modified":"2018-04-19T13:27:14","modified_gmt":"2018-04-19T20:27:14","slug":"sections-of-beech-street-closed-for-sewer-main-project-reopen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/sections-of-beech-street-closed-for-sewer-main-project-reopen\/","title":{"rendered":"Sections of Beech Street Closed for Sewer Main Project Reopen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sections of Beech Street that have been periodically closed since last summer while work related to the installation of a sewer main interceptor was underway have been reopened.<\/p>\n<p>Sections of Beech Street between Fair Avenue and the I-82 underpass were closed while the sewer main interceptor project was ongoing.\u00a0 The Beech Street underpass below I-82 has been closed throughout the project.<\/p>\n<p>Sewer main interceptors receive wastewater from multiple main sewer lines and convey it to a treatment plant. Sewer main interceptors are the largest diameter lines in the sewer system and the furthest downstream in the system.<\/p>\n<p>The project began in late August 2017 and was completed in phases by Scout Lake Construction, a Selah-based contracting firm.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the project, Yakima Transit Route 6 South was detoured temporarily.\u00a0 As of tomorrow, Route 6 will return to normal service, which includes access along Beech Street to and from a bus stop adjacent to the Walmart Supercenter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Beech-Street-Reopens-News-Release.pdf\">Beech Street Reopens &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sections of Beech Street that have been periodically closed since last summer while work related to the installation of a sewer main interceptor was underway have been reopened.
