{"id":5853,"date":"2018-05-14T10:20:44","date_gmt":"2018-05-14T17:20:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=5853"},"modified":"2018-05-14T10:27:22","modified_gmt":"2018-05-14T17:27:22","slug":"candidates-should-be-aware-of-sign-code-requirements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/candidates-should-be-aware-of-sign-code-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Candidates Should be Aware of Sign Code Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Yakima County&#8217;s official candidate filing week beginning today (Monday, May 14<sup>th<\/sup>), the City of Yakima reminds candidates and their supporters that signs cannot be affixed to City property \u2013 including fences or utility poles &#8211; or placed within City parks (other than public rights-of-way adjacent to parks).<\/p>\n<p>Campaign signs also be removed promptly after the election date.<\/p>\n<p>Other requirements in the City of Yakima&#8217;s sign code regarding temporary signs, which include those for political campaigns, include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Temporary signs can be no larger than four square feet and the height cannot exceed three feet, including the stake.<\/li>\n<li>Temporary signs may be placed on public rights-of-way between the curb and property line.
