The Yakima City Council held its most recent regular agenda business meeting on Tuesday, May 7th.\u00a0 Action taken by the Council on May 7th included:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Authorized the sale of $5 million in general obligation bonds for street improvements<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Requested additional review on establishing fees for special event permits to pay security and traffic control costs<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Accepted a seven step action plan for the revitalization of the North 1st<\/sup>\u00a0Street area<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Contracted with the Humane Society of Central Washington for two additional animal control officers for the remainder of 2013<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Approved cruising on Yakima Avenue during the evenings of June 22nd <\/sup>, July 20th<\/sup> and September 14th<\/sup><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rejected a Yakima Hearing Examiner recommendation and approved closure of a portion of N. 2nd<\/sup> Avenue as requested by Hops Extract Corporation of America<\/p>\n
