{"id":5886,"date":"2018-05-23T09:22:31","date_gmt":"2018-05-23T16:22:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=5886"},"modified":"2018-05-23T09:22:31","modified_gmt":"2018-05-23T16:22:31","slug":"harman-center-hosting-art-walk-open-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/harman-center-hosting-art-walk-open-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Harman Center Hosting Art Walk, Open House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Art by local residents, live music, dancing and refreshments are all planned during the City of Yakima&#8217;s Harman Center Art Walk &amp; Open House from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 30<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">&#8220;We want to create a &#8216;get-to-know-you&#8217; welcoming atmosphere,&#8221; Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards said of the free event. &#8220;It will give folks a chance to get to know what our groups are about.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The event will showcase art by Harman Center classes that include paintings, wood carving and leatherworking.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">&#8220;We&#8217;ll have displays set up throughout the building,&#8221; Richards said. &#8220;Some of our groups will have a table for card games and we&#8217;ll have a raffle.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>T<span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">he Art Walk &amp; Open House will also feature a free dance with music provided by Marv Pfeif, who plays the violin and keyboard.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>T<span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">he Harman Center is located at 101 North 65<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup> Avenue.
