So, too, is the opening of Franklin Pool,\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">2102 Tieton Drive.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The roughly three-month-long 2018 summer season at the City of Yakima\u2019s outdoor pool will officially begin when Franklin Pool opens its doors for the first time this year on Thursday, June 14<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup> at 12:30 pm.\u00a0 The pool will be open seven days a week from June 14<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup> through August 25<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Franklin Pool will offer recreational swim sessions Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.\u00a0 On Saturdays and Sundays, one recreational swimming session will be offered from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Admission for recreational swim sessions costs $2.00 for youth (under 18 years old), $3.75 for adults, and $2.25 for Honored Citizens (62 or older, a Yakima Transit Honored Citizen, State of Washington Handicapped Parking Placard holder, SSI Disabled, or active member of the military).\u00a0 A family (two adults and up to four children) will pay just $13.00.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Special pricing is also available for three-month passes and 10-visit punch cards.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Lap swimming and water walking sessions at Franklin Pool will be offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.\u00a0 The admission price for lap swimming and water walking sessions is the same as it is for recreational swimming sessions.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Aqua Zumba fitness classes will be offered from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Swimming lessons will also be offered at Franklin Pool this summer.\u00a0 Click on the following link and look at page 3 of the Yakima Parks &amp; Recreation 2018 Summer Program Guide to learn details about swimming lessons at Franklin Pool &#8211; <\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/Summer18Guide\"><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/Summer18Guide<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">To close out the 2018 summer season, Franklin Pool will host its 12<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup> Annual Paws in the Pool event on Sunday, August 26<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th <\/span><\/sup>from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.\u00a0 Dogs and their owners will get to enjoy the pool on the last day of the season just as they have for the past decade.\u00a0 Paws in the Pool admission is free for dogs, but owners have to pay normal admission fees.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Visit <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\/aquatics\/\"><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\">https:\/\/yakimaparks.com\/aquatics\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"> or call 575-6035 for more information.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: normal\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Franklin-Pool-Opens-June-14-News-Release.pdf\">Franklin Pool Opens June 14 &#8211; News Release<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The end of the school year next week and rising temperatures are sure signs that summer is approaching in Yakima.
