{"id":6320,"date":"2018-09-18T14:38:39","date_gmt":"2018-09-18T21:38:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=6320"},"modified":"2018-09-18T14:38:39","modified_gmt":"2018-09-18T21:38:39","slug":"road-repair-replacement-project-will-close-part-of-naches-avenue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/road-repair-replacement-project-will-close-part-of-naches-avenue\/","title":{"rendered":"Road Repair\/Replacement Project Will Close Part of Naches Avenue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Wednesday, September 19<sup>th<\/sup> through Thursday, September 27<sup>th<\/sup> the section of Naches Avenue between Yakima Avenue and and MLK, Jr. Boulevard will be closed during daytime hours while a road repair and grind and overlay paving project is underway.<\/p>\n<p>During the project, the portion of Naches Avenue between Yakima Avenue and MLK, Jr. Boulevard will be closed from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm each day.\u00a0 Detour routes around the project area will be in in place and flaggers will be on site to assist in directing traffic.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to road repairs, the project will include grinding and overlaying the street.\u00a0 Grinding and overlaying a road involves removing old and deteriorated asphalt and replacing it with new asphalt.\u00a0 Once the process is completed, the drivability and safety of a road surface is significantly improved.<\/p>\n<p>During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.\u00a0 Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.<\/p>\n<p>Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project areas if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information regarding these projects, contact Streets and Traffic Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Naches-Avenue-Road-Repair-Replacement-Project-News-Release.pdf\">Naches Avenue Road Repair-Replacement Project &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Wednesday, September 19th through Thursday, September 27th the section of Naches Avenue between Yakima Avenue and and MLK, Jr. Boulevard will be closed during daytime hours while a road repair and grind and overlay paving project is underway.
