The Council approved the forum during the December 4<sup>th<\/sup> meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s important we give District 7 a voice in improving public safety in the West Valley area of town and hope that we can come to some solutions,&#8221; said Cousens. &#8220;The input we receive from the community will help the City address public safety concerns.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The forum will be an open, special meeting of the Yakima City Council.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the neighborhood forum next Monday, contact Yakima City Councilmember Holly Cousens at 823-0444.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017 and 2018, the City Council held a series of 10 public safety forums throughout Yakima in order to gather feedback from community members as part of developing a long-term strategy addressing violence and crime.
