{"id":676,"date":"2013-06-07T10:05:53","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T17:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/?p=676"},"modified":"2013-06-07T10:05:53","modified_gmt":"2013-06-07T17:05:53","slug":"wastewater-line-installation-project-will-keep-two-j-street-sections-closed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wastewater-line-installation-project-will-keep-two-j-street-sections-closed\/","title":{"rendered":"Wastewater Line Installation Project Will Keep Two J Street Sections Closed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The closure of two sections of J Street that began on June 3<sup>rd<\/sup> will continue through at least Friday, June 14<sup>th<\/sup> while the roadway is paved in connection with a wastewater line installation project.<\/p>\n<p>The four-block section of J Street between 16<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and 20<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue remains closed to through traffic.\u00a0 The second closure on J Street is between 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue and 23<sup>rd<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Access to the DSHS office on 16<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0 Avenue is being maintained while the paving project is underway, although traffic in the area will continue to be congested.\u00a0 Traffic controls are in place while the project is underway to help drivers navigate through the construction zone and to an available detour route.<\/p>\n<p>Crews from TTC Construction, a Yakima-based contracting firm, have been working to install a 12-inch diameter wastewater line since earlier this year.\u00a0 During the week of June 7<sup>th<\/sup> through June 14<sup>th<\/sup>, TTC crews will be installing a bore pit and boring a section of pipe under BNSF railroad tracks at 23<sup>rd<\/sup> Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>That same week, a second crew will also be working on a different section of the new wastewater line near the intersection of 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Avenue and Pine Street.\u00a0 However, that part of the project will not involve any road closures.<\/p>\n<p>During the J Street paving project, traffic delays will likely occur.\u00a0 Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.<\/p>\n<p>Access to homes and businesses in the project areas will be maintained and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project areas if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information regarding this project, contact Utility Engineer Shelley Willson at 576-6303.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&#8211; end &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yakimawa.gov\/media\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/6\/files\/sites\/6\/Wastewater-Project-Will-Close-Tieton-Drive-Section-News-Release1.pdf\">Wastewater Project Will Close Tieton Drive Section &#8211; News Release<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Utility Engineer Shelley Willson \u2013 576-6303<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Communications &amp; Public Affairs Director Randy Beehler \u2013 901-1142<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The closure of two sections of J Street that began on June 3rd will continue through at least Friday, June 14th while the roadway is paved in connection with a wastewater line installation project.
